HubSpot August 2026 Updates: ChatGPT, Claude & AEO Tools

Written by Glenn Miller | 11 August 2026

If July pushed AI up your funnel, August is about connecting HubSpot to the AI tools your team already uses every day. The headline is integrations: a much deeper ChatGPT connection, a Claude connector that now writes back to your CRM, and a new bridge into Microsoft 365 Copilot - part of a wave of 193+ new and updated Marketplace apps.

For Australian businesses running on HubSpot, this month is less about learning new screens and more about letting the AI tools you already pay for talk to your CRM. Here’s the full breakdown - what shipped, who it’s for, and what to action first.

HubSpot’s August 2026 updates centre on AI integrations: a deeper HubSpot ChatGPT integration (including ChatGPT sign-in), a two-way HubSpot Claude connector with write access, HubSpot Agent for Microsoft 365 Copilot, and 193+ new or updated Marketplace apps. Alongside these, HubSpot expanded its AEO citation tracking, added workflow templates to the Marketplace, Instagram DM file attachments, per-email tracking controls, AI filler-word removal in video, Breeze-powered CTAs in assignment emails, and thumbs-down coaching for Customer Agent. This roundup explains what shipped, who each update is for, and what Australian teams should action first.

The Biggest Changes

  • ChatGPT integration deepens: the ChatGPT connector now reaches campaigns, blogs, landing pages and team context - and you can now sign into HubSpot with your ChatGPT account.

  • Claude connector goes two-way: Claude can now log calls, create tasks, update deal stages, and build landing pages directly in HubSpot.

  • 193+ new Marketplace apps, including HubSpot Agent for Microsoft 365 Copilot, Granola, BoldSign and a Breeze-in-Slack upgrade.

  • AEO citation tracking expanded with content-type and brand-mention columns - see exactly how your brand shows up in AI answers.

  • Plus: Marketplace workflow templates, Instagram DM attachments, per-email tracking control, AI filler-word removal, and Breeze CTAs in assignment emails.

1. HubSpot ChatGPT Integration: Deeper Connector + ChatGPT Sign-In

The HubSpot ChatGPT integration is the standout this month — it got both a bigger connector and a brand-new sign-in option.

What is the HubSpot ChatGPT integration??
The HubSpot connector for ChatGPT now includes access to your marketing campaign data, blog posts, landing pages, and team and user context — so you can ask questions about your marketing performance and org structure without leaving ChatGPT. Separately, you can now sign into HubSpot using your ChatGPT account, with a smoother connection flow from inside ChatGPT.

Why it matters
Your team is already in ChatGPT daily. This turns it into a genuine window into HubSpot: ask about campaign performance or team structure and get answers grounded in your real CRM data. And ChatGPT sign-in removes friction — fewer steps between the two products, plus another secure verification method at login.

How it works

  • Connector: ask ChatGPT about your HubSpot campaigns, blog posts, landing pages, and team/user context directly in chat.
  • Sign-in from HubSpot: choose ChatGPT as a sign-in option and verify through a secure flow.
  • Sign-in from ChatGPT: HubSpot checks if you’re in the right account and either connects instantly or guides you through sign-in first.

Available for: Connector: Marketing Hub Pro/Enterprise context. ChatGPT sign-in: all hubs and tiers.

Lupo's take: This is the one to set up first. ChatGPT is where a lot of marketing thinking already happens - wiring it to your live HubSpot data means faster answers and less tab-switching. Just brief your team on what data the connector can see before switching it on. Talk to Lupo Digital.

2. HubSpot Claude Connector: Now Two-Way With Write Access

What is it?
The HubSpot connector for Claude now works both ways. You can read HubSpot marketing campaign data, blog posts, landing pages, and team/user context from Claude - and, with write access, Claude can log calls, create follow-up tasks, update deal stages, and create and edit landing pages directly in HubSpot. Analytical CRM queries now run inside HubSpot, so cross-object questions return computed answers without hitting record limits.

Why it matters
Read-only AI is useful; AI that can act is transformative. With write access, Claude moves from “answering questions about your CRM” to “doing work in your CRM” - logging activity, updating deals, and even building landing pages from a conversation. The in-HubSpot analytical queries also mean big cross-object questions actually compute, rather than choking on record limits.

Available for: Available via the HubSpot connector for Claude (Marketing Hub context; write actions in HubSpot).

Lupo's take: As an AI-first agency, this is the update we’re most excited about. A two-way Claude connector that can build and edit landing pages inside HubSpot is a real production accelerator. Set clear permissions first - write access is powerful, so decide who can use it and on which objects.

3. 193+ New Marketplace Apps, Incl. HubSpot Agent for Microsoft 365 Copilot

What is it?
HubSpot added 193+ new apps and updated 13+ existing ones in the Marketplace last quarter - which now holds 2,000+ apps in total. The headline new app is HubSpot Agent for Microsoft 365 Copilot, which brings your HubSpot customer context into Copilot so you can surface CRM insights and act back in HubSpot from Copilot Chat or Microsoft Teams.

Notable new and updated apps

  • HubSpot Agent for Copilot: real-time CRM insights inside Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams.

  • Granola (new): AI meeting notes that sync summaries into HubSpot against the right deals and contacts.

  • BoldSign (new): e-signatures sent from contact, company and deal records, with auto-prefilled fields.

  • Slack + Breeze Assistant: tag Breeze in any channel for CRM summaries, tasks, notes and meeting prep.

  • Shopify: now syncs product variants (size, colour) as individual records for accurate orders and emails.

  • Eventbrite, CallRail, NetSuite, Salesmsg, SurveyMonkey and more - all upgraded.

How to find them
Open the Marketplace from the top nav, go to the Apps tab, select View all collections, and open the Recently Updated HubSpot Apps card. You’ll need Super Admin or App Marketplace access to install.

Available for: All hubs and tiers (install permissions required).

Lupo's take: Don’t try to boil the ocean here. Pick the two or three apps that remove a real bottleneck for your team — Granola for meeting notes, BoldSign for e-sign, or the Copilot agent if you live in Microsoft 365 — and skip the rest.

4. AEO Citation Tracking: See How Your Brand Appears in AI Answers

What is it?
HubSpot’s AEO Citations tab has been redesigned and expanded. The citation table now takes the full screen and adds three things: a Content Type column, a Brand Mentioned column, and a search function - giving you a clearer view of how your brand shows up in AI-generated answers.

Why it matters
Answer Engine Optimisation is how you stay visible as buyers shift from Google to AI answers. The old citation table was buried and hard to work with. Now you can quickly see which type of source each citation came from (blog, news, directory), whether your brand was actually named, and search by URL to find the citations that matter - turning raw citation data into something you can act on.

How it works

  • Open the AEO tool in HubSpot and go to the Citations tab.
  • Use the Content Type column to see the source type of each citation.
  • Use the Brand Mentioned column to see where your brand is named.
  • Use search to filter the table by URL.

Available for: Marketing Hub Pro and Enterprise, and HubSpot AEO customers.

Lupo's take: This is squarely in our wheelhouse. AEO is no longer optional - being cited in AI answers is becoming as important as ranking on Google. If you want help reading your citation data and turning it into a content plan that gets you mentioned, this is exactly what we do.

5. Workflow Templates in the Marketplace

What is it?
Pre-built workflow templates are now available in the HubSpot Marketplace - ready-made starting points based on common, proven automation patterns.

Why it matters
Building workflows from scratch takes time. Templates give you a tested starting point you can customise and go, instead of staring at a blank automation canvas.

How it works:

  • Go to Automation > Workflows and click Browse templates (or Marketplace > Workflows).
  • Search or browse by goal or use case, select a template, and customise it.

Available for: Professional and Enterprise across Marketing, Sales, Service, Content, Data, and Smart CRM. Multi-brand requires the Brands add-on.

Lupo's take: A genuine time-saver for lean teams. Start from a template that’s close to what you need, then tweak - you’ll ship automations far faster than building each one from zero.

6. Instagram DM File Attachments in the Social Inbox

What is it?
When replying to Instagram Direct Messages in HubSpot’s social inbox, you can now send images, audio, PDFs and videos directly from HubSpot - no need to jump into the Instagram app.

Why it matters
Instagram DMs are a natural channel for product questions and sales chats. A short video or PDF spec sheet often answers a question better than text. Now you can send any supported file straight from HubSpot’s inbox without switching tools -keeping the whole conversation and its context in one place.

How it works:

  • In an Instagram DM reply, click Attach file and choose from HubSpot’s File Manager.
  • HubSpot validates type and size, shows a preview, then you send.
  • Supported: images (to 8 MB), audio, PDFs and video (to 25 MB). Note: you can send text or a file in one reply, not both.

Available for: Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise.

Lupo's take: Great for any brand doing sales or support in Instagram DMs. Sending a spec sheet or demo clip without leaving HubSpot keeps the conversation logged and the rep in flow.

7. Switch Off Tracking Per Marketing Email

What is it?
You can now override your global open- and click-tracking settings for individual marketing emails, right in the email editor - granular, per-email control.

Why it matters
Some emails need different tracking: internal updates, partner comms, or privacy-focused campaigns may need tracking off even when it’s on globally. Previously you’d have to change account-wide settings (affecting every email) or couldn’t do it at all. Admins control who can override via a new user permission (off by default).

How it works:

  • In a marketing email, click Setup, then under Tracking use the “Track opens and clicks” toggle.
  • Admins enable it per user under Settings > Users & Teams > Permissions > Marketing Tools > Override Marketing Email Tracking Settings.
  • Note: you can’t change tracking after the email is sent, and global tracking must be on.

Available for: Marketing Hub Free, Starter, Professional and Enterprise.

Lupo's take: A small but useful governance win - handy for privacy-sensitive sends and clean test campaigns that don’t skew your analytics.

8. AI Remove Filler Words in the Video Editor

What is it?
You can now automatically detect and remove filler words - “um,” “uh,” “ah” — from your videos in the video clip editor.

Why it matters
Re-recording just to clean up filler words wastes time. Now you can use your first take and strip the filler directly in the editor, so you spend less time recording and more time publishing polished content.

How it Works

  • Open a video in the clip editor and toggle on AI remove filler words.

  • Filler words appear struck-through in the transcript; click any word and Restore to keep it.

  • Publish as usual once you’re happy

Available for: Content Hub Professional and Enterprise.

Lupo's take: A neat one for anyone producing talking-head or social video. First-take-and-clean is a real workflow saver - relevant to how we produce video content ourselves.

9. Breeze AI-Powered CTAs in Assignment Emails

What is it?
Task assignment notification emails now include dynamic, AI-generated call-to-action buttons that link straight to the relevant record and open the Breeze sidebar with context-specific next steps.

Why it matters
People often receive an assignment email and aren’t sure what the best next step is - causing delays. Embedding an AI-powered CTA surfaces the optimal next action for each context, so assignees act faster.

What changed

  • When a contact, company, ticket or deal is assigned, the assignee gets a notification email.
  • It includes a primary (and optional secondary) AI-generated CTA based on the object and context.
  • Clicking it opens the record and the Breeze sidebar, prefilled with a summary and suggested next steps.

Available for: All hubs and tiers.

Lupo's take: A quiet productivity nudge. Turning “you’ve been assigned something” into “here’s exactly what to do next” removes a small but common source of delay.

10. Customer Agent Coaching: Thumbs-Down Feedback

What is it?
When a visitor rates a Customer Agent response with a thumbs down, that rating is now captured as a coaching opportunity - linked to the full conversation - so admins can see what went wrong and fix it.

Why it matters
Admins previously had no scalable way to know when the agent gave a bad answer; they’d review logs manually or get a raw count with no context. This turns a vanity metric into an actionable queue: instead of a number, you see the specific conversations to fix.

How it works

  • Go to Customer Agent > Analyse > Coaching Opportunities.

  • Click into an opportunity to see the full conversation.

  • Act directly: add a short answer, update knowledge sources, or refine guidelines.

Available for: Professional and Enterprise across Service, Content, Data, Marketing and Sales Hub.

Lupo's take: If you run a Customer Agent, this is how you make it better over time. A queue of “conversations to fix” beats a dashboard number you can’t act on.
